Now thirteen Danes have died in Afghanistan. A suicide bomber blew up himself, killing two Danish soldiers and a number of Afghans, including a collaborating translator. The suicide bomber, who sacrificed his life for the freedom of his country, became a martyr. He was neither the first nor will he be the last because the Muslim Afghan people are fighting a just liberation struggle which, despite its Islamic expression, does not differ in principle from the Danish resistance struggle.
Here in Denmark – with our history of being occupied by Nazi Germany – it is unbelievable that a large majority in the national parliament is supporting the occupation of Afghanistan which is not more just, just because the UN, controlled by the Great Powers, has sanctioned it, and just because an Afghan “government” has been installed through the “elections” of the NATO occupying power.
Those political parties supporting the war in Afghanistan as well as the participating Danish soldiers are not only violating the freedom of the Afghan people, but also the history of the Danes.
