The puppet “leaders” of Iraq’s Arab Sunni and Shia Muslims as well as Kurds have – following US pressure – agreed that members of Saddam Hussein’s Baath Party can return to civil and military positions.
This move expresses the strength of the Baath Party which was outlawed by the occupying power following the fall of Baghdad. Since then, the occupying power has been trying, without any success, to uproot the party.
The Baath Party is the leading and unifying force in the Iraqi resistance struggle. That the party is playing this role is not only due to the fact that it was in government for 35 years and is still the biggest political party in Iraq, but also because it – contrary to the sectarian parties of the puppet regime – unifies the Iraqi people across religious and ethnic lines.
The Baath Party has issued a detailed programme of liberation in which the party declares that it will not settle for anything else than the occupying power’s complete and unconditional withdrawal from Iraq. Hereafter a government of national unity consisting of resistance fighters and other patriots will govern Iraq for two years towards free and democratic elections.
The occupying power murdered Saddam Hussein, but his party decides Iraq’s future.
