The Iraqis are fighting for their May 4*

By Carsten Kofoed, Free Iraq Blog of Denmark, July 23, 2007

Asmaa Abdol-Hamid (Muslim Danish-Palestinian MP candidate for the leftist Red-Green Alliance, translator’s note) is being attacked because she has expressed that the Iraqi people has the right to wage armed resistance, also against the Danish occupation forces. The fact that this point of view is still capable of causing outrage, as this right is written into Article 51 of the UN Charter, is due to Danish chauvinism making people stupid.

The Danish occupation forces in Iraq are participating in a war that violated the UN Charter, a war, which does not become legal just because the UN Security Council later sanctioned the aggression and the puppet regime that was “elected” under the guns of the occupying power. The Germans held “elections” in order to legitimize their Danish puppets during their occupation of Denmark from 1940 to 1945, too.

As a Dane I support the resistance of the Iraqi people because every people has the right to live in a free country. I do not support criminals if just they are Danish as the Fogh Rasmussen government, which bears the political responsibility for all the bloody consequences of the war in Iraq, or the Danish soldiers who voluntarily and for money have joined a war and occupation that is illegal and based on lies.
